Apparently when this idea was mooted Yorks & Notts came out with gushing praise as did Hants - obviously because they are 3 of the grounds that will host it, also Eoin Morgan is in favour but then again he only plays limited overs & anything beyond 1 day cricket would be too much for him. Many Counties & their players are rightly worried about the implications for themselves & anyone signing a new contract is wary of what will happen in 2 years time. It's truly amazing how the ECB can create such uncertainty & unrest in cricket without almost really trying!!

He keeps saying he wants to play more 4 day cricket.  He's injured at the moment and over the last couple of years he's made himself available for matches Middlesex have preferred other players in.

Good for Middlesex who don't seem to want Morgan the mercenary in their 4 day team, they tend to keep faith with younger players, if Morgan played for us I wouldn't want to see him in the 4 day team as I think his technique isn't good enough.

A good article about The 100 by Martin Samuel in his Daily Mail column yesterday, the gist being that it is aimed at non cricket fans who are more bothered about their next drink than the next over (how true) plus it's an outlet for their loud, boorish behaviour (how true again). Basically it won't bring in new people, it isn't cricket as we know it & it could well ruin the existing County T20 (SURELY WHAT THE ecb ACTUALLY WANT DESPITE THEIR DENIALS).

The ECB want the destruction of all non test ground county cricket. Not just the T20.

Alec Stewart on Sports extra said he was in favour of two divisions in the championship. So far so good. Then he said the first division should have 12 teams and the second 6! He made no attempt to explain how many games each team would play other than to say two up and down. Just when you think you have heard all the daft scenarios another is proposed. I despair.

I think that idea has some merit.

Even under Grayson Essex would always have been in the top division.

Love and hate are two sides of the same coin (standard psychoanalysis). I think I now understand your irrational obsession with PG.

Oscar Wilde said the only thing worse than being talked about was not being talked about.

The omerta about Larry speaks volumes.

Good to see Graves hasn't given up on being an idiot! How the hell can he continue in his role when he clearly isn't fit for purpose? The man is a walking disaster with clearly no understanding of cricket, kids do like the game as he'd observe if he went to parks & cricket grounds, loads also play at SchooL to varying dgrees & standards. The Counties should register a vote of no confidence in him at ECB asap.

After school cricket is alive and well at the school near us. It's not a posh grammar so perhaps CG should come here.

According to  today's Daily Mail Graves just seems to dig an even bigger hole for himself/ECB as Surrey quite rightly refuse to commit themselves fully to this absurd & stupid 100 without knowing full details, Graves seems to think they should just go ahead without knowing the full implications, probably similar to what many Counties did when agreeing to the new T20 idea (fortunately Mr Faragher didn't on our behalf).
Obviously the players views also need to be taken into account as there is a lot of confusion etc, surely even the ECB must realise you cannot just introduce something without explaining it in FULL & not just the bits you think they might want to hear.
Wait a minute - ECB don't do logic & common sense!!

Agree. You only need look at how wildly popular the "All Stars" under 7s programme is, which is being rolled out at cricket clubs across the county, to refute the accusation of cricket not being popular amongst youngsters.
