Not sure Quincy is unhappy with their 'criticality' - they tend to err on the other side. However, yes it isn't easy to commentate on CC matches unless we are batting on the first morning because play unfolds over quite a long period of time.
Don't forget TMS have more commentators, they tend to rotate their overseas - indeed the BBC Essex commentary is generally better when they have AN Other from the other county Ernie Bevan from Glammy (?!?) etc. In this way we get more insights about the opposition's form as well as the impression they have of our team. Perhaps being together as regularly as Nick, Dick, David & Paul are it must be difficult to think of fresh things to say when the over rate slackens.
I fear that there are those who'd prefer to get rid of this coverage and spend it on minor celebs presenting drivel or yet another blasted country music programme...
