Achievement indeed, Blocky, but when was the last time this could be stated of Essex in relation to the game of cricket, 2002 in div. 2, or should we digress further to the days prior to apartheid back in 1992.

YAWN!

Hang on Diatribe may have a point.

Robben Island must have a  vacancy for an enemy of the state.

Good win for the team but dear oh dear does the batting look fragile. They need to see a Psychologist.

Still doesn't get rid of the nasty taste of being thrashed by Hampshire in the CC though.

pro-40 a couple of times in mid/late 2000's, under the great leadership of Swampy (and a good bit of work from Irani to be fair).  Friends provident trophy......kent at lords...one of the best days out ever..fact.

The previous T20 games we have looked anything but fragile. Chased down everything perfectly.

Indeed, Sticky. We’ve looked really professional.

have to agree , winning 6 out of 7 suggests shows that too. Think some people moan on here for the sake of it!

If the obsession with 20/20 didn't override everything else I wouldn't be so anti.

Quite right VP. It seems like some in here don't give a flying whatsit about whatever happens in the Championship as long as we keep winning in the T20 matches. Now, IF we went on to actually win it, then yes, it would be a good achievement and something to celebrate when it happens but, a) I'm much more concerned right now about the horribly inconsistent and sub standard batting we see virtually every Championship game and b) we all know that come T20 Finals day (should we make it that far) the side will freeze and lose the semi just like it has done EVERY single time so far anyway!

Just maybe, under RtD, the lads won't freeze this time.

Triumph of hope over rational expectation maybe, but it springs eternal.

Everything's possible, I reckon!! even things as unlikely as THAT!! :)
