I have just noticed that Essex CEO John Stephenson is also a director of London Spirit. I don't remember this being announced/publicised. I thought the b*****d *undred franchises were to be completely separate from the counties.

No the counties had a notional connection with a franchise to keep them engaged Essex and Middlesex? with London Spirit (and the MCC if i'm not mistaken) were the 3 with an 'interest/link' to London Spirit.

Also the Members Forum to be held on a match day AFTER close of play at 6.30pm.
I much preferred the lunchtime forums held under Mr Farragher,  which were well attended.
I suspect the later time is to reduce the numbers who attend.
Maybe alternate, with one forum at 6.30pm and the next one at 1pm.

I may be wrong but I think the CEO's London Spirit directorship may have originated with his role at the MCC. Bizarrely the other county associated with the Lord's franchise are Northants. Northampton is a very similar distance from Lord's, Trent Bridge and Edgbaston so presumably it was convenient to align them to Lord's for some reason.

That's my fear. Mr Faragher was totally opposed to this trend but I can see that the ECB may find a move towards clubs being run by boards of directors/owners with injections of private capital easier to deal with than a group of mutually owned clubs. Of course de mutualisation in the building society was a stunning success but that won't stop the speculators and asset strippers if they get the chance.

There are five new vacancies and this would possibly let in the people who finish at the bottom of the ballot.

You really believe that Board-led vetting of candidates is a good idea? An election is the appropriate way to 'vet' candidates.

You don't have to pay - I claimed my 'free day' for myself and a guest. As a lomg-standing Life Member this was a perk we were offered because of covid.

Manchester Originals - Lancashire (the only one to decide to go it alone!)
Northern Superchargers - Yorkshire and Durham
Birmingham Phoenix - Warwickshire and Worcestershire
Trent Rockets - Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire
Welsh Fire - Glamorgan, Gloucestershire and Somerset
London Spirit - Middlesex, Essex and  Northamptonshire
Oval Invincibles - Surry and Kent
Southern Brave - Hampshire and Sussex
