It is difficult to get through a decent top order once the ball goes soft. To bowl the Windies out in two sessions was good.
The need for real pace and quality spinner who turn suggests changes for Thursday. Leach in for Ness, Archer in for Curran?
Agreed.
Bess was disappointing with the ball - he batted well - so there's a strong case for bringing in Leach, or maybe even Moeen. I don't think the sectors would risk Parkinson as sole front-line spinner at the moment. The only way I could see us playing 2 spinners is one of them being an all-rounder, i.e. Mo, replacing Ollie Pope. Although young Ollie's done sod all wit the bat this series, I'd keep him in, he's got great potential, so for me, one spinner it is.
Archer has got to come in, presumably for Woakes or Curran. Both bowled well and would be entitled to feel a bit miffed at being dropped, but needs must. On balance I'd keep Woakes & drop Curran, although I like the left-arm variety the latter provides.
