VG day of real Test cricket yesterday, even if there were some rusty players - and umpires - out there and it wasn't the same without a live audience. A few thoughts:
- Zak Crawley's a shoo-in for number 3 next test. Denley's done a decent, gritty, job but Crawley looks class
- Buttler's a good keeper and, I understand, a VG judge on when to appeal an ump's decision (unlike Bairstow!), but he's been found out as a Test batsman. I'd much prefer Foakes.
- If Dom Sibley could learn to play the sweep he'd be much more effective against the tweakers. As it is, he'd struggle against a class spin attack
