yes, but we have eyes to read books and  watch recordings, etc.

Well I'd rather watch a limited Cook get a 100+ than a flashy player (KP ??) get himself out after 50 - much better for the team.

Anyway, how can you call someone with very nearly 10,000 test runs limited?
very nearly 12,000 test runs!

Yes, 59 runs and 2/38 in 10 overs  vs WI

Supposed to be a budding keeper?!

You're only as good as your last few performances. There must be a statto out there who can tell us his average over the last couple of years.

I see Happymans comments have not grown with age.

I didnt know if he noticed that Callum Taylor was Englands top scorer against WI?

We have another potential England star of the future, who may not be boring either?

I know this the Lawrence thread, but young Callum Taylor took 3-14 today, and Lawrence got another 50. Both of them doing well.Hope they can keep it up from April onwards.

Great stuff from Lawrence, long may it continue. At a tangent Cook & Bopara bat together - Cook will save you a game & Bopara can win you a game, both ideal but in different circumstances & you need both in your team.

I'm pretty sure Cook has played more match winnings over his career than Bopara has in long form cricket.

I'm sure you're right but it was just to show a contrast of styles, Ally & Ravi had batted in big stands together far too rarely, I do remember a big stand in our 2nd innings v Yorks in LVCC1 in 2010 when both scored 102 but not much else (unfortunately I wasn't there when they thrashed the Aussie attack back in 2005).

disappointing end (getting o) to his last innings in the under 19 t'ment

PS well done to Crisp for at least remembering Dan in his list of players to start the new season for Essex, still laughing at his error in excluding Porter from his list

Strangled down the legside so we'll let him off that one. Should be interesting to see how much he has developed from last season.
