...to be honest, the parking spaces were usually only available for those arriving about an hour earlier than the start of play , or in the case of disabled parking sometimes earlier when Sky takes over most spaces  ...

Given the lack of spaces at Chelmsford, the "free parking" only has any real significance at Colchester, even (or perhaps especially) for disabled people. One of the various reasons why I've now cancelled my membership for 2014.

On the more general topic of Membership, I've just noticed that my sub due on 31 December doesn't appear to have been taken from my account by direct debit as it should have been. I was prompted to check by another member who said he'd had the same experience. Has anyone else noticed this? or are the club trying to tell me something?

On parking I think the club should look to deploy Meteor Way on Championship Sundays next year. Public transport isn't as good on a Sunday (engineering works on the trains and depleted bus services) and it would make sense to encourage people to attend the first day of a game which traditionally has better crowds. Personally I'd probably look to bring my son after lunch (he plays most Sunday mornings) and nipping up to Chelmsford for a few hours from Hockley by car would be much better than trying to do it by train.

Far better to keep Meteor Way for weekdays when the public car parks are busy and street parking not allowed. Sundays - you can park in the street.

Well I'm underwhelmed by the contents of my envelope.

A badge - good.

A yearbook - but why does the cover have dents all over it?

A letter - promising a voucher book - why not just send it?

Why no car sticker? My subs were paid 20+ years ago so clearly before the end of December 2013!

Life members should receive at least as much as members paying by Direct Debit if not more ...
