It's unreasonable to expect it to match the Lords screen , or probably any other English test venue, but look at the features and see which can be incorporated into our system.

This must be the first post that I have read on here in years that says it would be unreasonable to expect something from the club.  I'm shocked.

i was there Monday and thought the scoreboard was ok and did its job.  I'm not sure what could be added to it that wasn't on display to help supporters.

1. Last wicket - name of fielder and bowler.
2. Bowling figures - every few overs
3. Scorecard - after every wicket
4. A match clock
5. Milestones, 50s, 100s. Partnerships
6. Par score
7. Run rate
8. Over rate
9. Current bowlers name
10. Different format for T20

This is of course a wish list.

But not sure why money is the problem. I thought ECB paid for the screen.

Maybe the EBC only paid for the screen and Essex have to pay for what is displayed on it? ;)

I'm assuming that because it became such a "rush job", they have started with a basic board but will add features as they become proficient.

Surely it more a matter of design rather than spondolicks
