A thought has occurred to me that with matches being played predominantly on Fridays next year then T20 will get less TV coverage from Sky as it will be spread over, say, 16 weeks & logically only 1 match per night will be shown thus at least 2 Counties won't have a home match televised , at present each County normally gets at least 3 matches (1 home & 2 away or vice versa), I'm guessing that Sky TV money might thus go down meaning Counties would each get less from the pool.
Also at present matches are televised on virtually every night over 4/5 weeks meaning approx. 35-40 are shown , in 2014 it would seem approx. 16/20 might be shown - not exactly in cricket's best interests!!
Maybe others on here know differently but perhaps anyone in the know could clarify, please?

I think the key word there is predominantly.  Most maybe on a Friday but I'm sure they will have sky games spread through the week.  The fact is a lot of these Friday games will clash with Test Matches anyway so Sky won't show games then.  I would be shocked if the amount of Sky games are reducedby much at all as it wouldn't make sense for the ECB to change the schedule if it meant a big loss of TV money.

Interesting to see Middlesex have a double header on 17 May, when they play both Sussex and Essex at Lords.
Iwonder if it is best to play first or second?

I note that Middlesex are also playing a HOME game at The Oval.

I've always admired Middx treating T20 with the contempt it deserves.

But then again they're a proper county cricket club and not two bob merchants only interested in a fast buck.

They won it in 2008, they obviously didn't treat it with much contempt then.  Personally I prefer 4 day cricket but crowds for twenty20 cricket are easily the highest of the formats so it's an important part of the season.

That was more to do with Kent snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Always nice when that happens.
