Cardiff Council gets funded via The Welsh Assembly, via The Treasury in London,
(ie Taxpayers money) at £1300 per head more than the English are funded.
Therefore, we Essex taxpayers, may have indirectly helped write off the Glamorgan debt.  ;)

I see Cardiff council have now written off £4m. Maybe we should tap up Chelmsford City council for the new pavilion? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-31964175

Disgraceful really. There must have been another way to help GCCC without writing off such a large sum.

i actually think its good that the council are backing or rather helped out the cricket club, would be nice if Essex County Council would help the cricket club.

By 'council' you mean the tax payers?! A debt is a debt ... unless you're Greece that is.

The council are the ones holding the purse strings and if they didnt spend it on the cricket it would be wasted somewhere else, so i wouldnt mind the council giving money to Essex at least it was going to somewhere i'm glad to see it go.

Also if the council paid for these mythical ground developments they might actually happen.

Well if this franchise cricket comes in there doesn't seem to be much point in doing any more than replacing the out of date pavilion. We won't need a bigger stadium. Maybe we should push for an Essex dominated franchise at Stratford?
