Membership - Reciprocal arrangements
« on: December 02, 2014, 12:11:44 PM »
After spotting something on the Sussex website, I see there area few changes to our reciprocal agreement with Hants, Kent and Sussex. There will now be a charge of £6 for entry to these grounds when Essex are not playing. This seems to have appeared without warning. What was the thinking / discussion behind this.

There is good news with free admission at Lancs, Leics and Gloucs. Thanks very much.

Maybe with Sussex it is a case of needing every penny that they can generate in order to cover Mill's contract.

Why not have a system where a county mebership gets you in half price at any away 4 day match. It would encourage cricket lovers to go more?

Good suggestion.
That sounds a great idea.

Excellent idea, can't see too many of our Members taking advantage at Lancs, Leics or Gloucs though!!
BTW I know some will be excited at being able to watch us at Tunbridge Wells next year but be warned Kent charge an astronomical amount to park your car in the ground (£10 a day I seem to recall).

Yes - it would make my membership more useful if we got reduced entry at other counties. Most of the matches I watch are away games as I don't live in Essex these days and I'm trying to watch at every first class ground.

Old Trafford is on my list for next year so I'd be very happy ...

the reason for this was that some were joining those counties rather than essex and gaining free entry to essex.

the club has got wise finally

More power to their elbow I say.

Withholding money from Larry is always a good idea.

It's not on there.

I was hoping Danny would confirm or deny this, and maybe explain the change in membership benefits.
