Tymal Mills

Now that he has declined the offered new contract and is leaving the club there is no reason for the club to keep the contract offer confidential.

So, please would the club disclose the 'attractive' contract offer.

Could say the same about you & your pro Larry campaign.

Well done. You have managed to bring Larry in to yet another thread that has absolutely nothing to do with him.

If you're going to criticise others you should expect to be called on your own nonsense.

Criticised who?

I asked if he was being serious about a contract offer being made public.

1. How would it help attract players if they had details of the offer made to Mills to use as a yardstick?
2. Who on here would like details of their remuneration package made public?

Think about it.

Alan Lilley's salary made it into the public domain so why the fuss over a contract that wasn't even signed.

I know VP's remuneration package. David Cameron told me when he gave his speech about benefit cuts.

Shame that inveterate wage stealer Grayson isn't also in line for a cut.

I have thought about it thank you. I'm not asking for details of his salary. I'm asking for details of the contract offer that was declined.

The subject was raised at the last members' forum; the answer from the panel was that a fair offer was made, but Tymal was asking for a contract that would have put him at the top level among the playing staff and would have caused great upset in the dressing room. What was offered to him was considered fair to a player that (despite his undoubted potential) is still at the very early stages of his career and needs to play more first team cricket before wage demands of that scale can be made. it's a sad loss to the team, but that is modern cricket and more and more, we'll see players looking to the game solely as a way to make as much cash as they can over the span of their playing career.

That, Mr Mootoo, is what I heard, too. Shame, and one can understand in these difficult times someone making the best of his talent. I only hope he hasn’t over-reached himself.

Thanks Daren,

Very interesting. Of course, there isn't the money in the game to pay young quicks with over inflated opinion of themselves. This bubble will burst as many counties are struggling for cash.
