Personally I don't have a problem with bag checking, the Stewards are usually ok when carrying it out & I know it has to be done. I'd rather this than somebody get in with a package they shouldn't have which could cause damage/injuries, you never know these days!!

No one will target a cricket match come on - if it was that much of a requirement why do so few counties perform them??  It also slows down getting into the ground

I wouldn't be so sure of that going forward.  SIS/MI6 are absolutely bricking it currently.  word from the people in the know is expect another 7/7
please don't make out that this is anti terrorism, if I wanted to blow up 5000 infadels a cursory look in the top of my rucksack wouldn't stop me, you've been reading too many newspapers.

Will the topic of the security be brought up at this focus group Danny because the constant need for bag checks and their presence puts me and misses off renewing our memberships which we haven't done since 2012 whereas when we go to other counties they either don't have bag checks or if they do it's just the normal stewards who are happy to take your word when you say you have no alcohol on you - I don't see the need for the heavy handed approach at Chelmsford and we won't be renewing until that changes I'm afraid so I very much hope this is a topic of discussion?  The final straw was being asked to check my bag on the river gate by the security person for the ICC t20 event back in June when there was one man and his dog also watching...

If required this can be a discussion point at the focus group, are you able to attend? Kind regards

I would strongly urge everyone on the forum to attend if they possibly can.  This is a massively important subject and there are plenty of opinions.  Lets hear them...

Hi Danny, many thanks for replying.  Unfortunately I can't make it due to a prior engagement but hopefully someone else will discuss the matter in my absence but appreciate your reply.

No worries mate.  Excellent evening of positive thought process by everyone involved.  Some of our lady members have some excellent ideas....very impressed.  If you or the main committee want to have a chat about the security issues, please give me a call mate.
