Score cards
« on: July 03, 2014, 09:28:11 AM »
Until recently score cards were available at the entrance kiosks to the ground at the River gate, members entrance and Hayes Close entrance.
Now Score card sellers are positioned at the members entrance and River gate, but not at the Hayes Close entrance.
It would be interesting to know why the Hayes Close stewards at the kiosk are no longer able to sell scorecards.
On Sunday, the first day of a match when spectators tend to buy scorecards, the "mobile" scorecard attendant didn't wander round to the Hayes Close end until 11.38am.
Why can't the Hayes Close stewards sell scorecards at the kiosk?

I've always found the old boys who man those kiosks to be remarkably sanguine about the club and its prospects.

As such they probably don't tout scorecards aggressively enough & lack the necessary "Heritage.Pride.Belief" required.

I think with the age of the stewards , the task of letting people in is hard enough without dealing with scorecards as well! During the day did several laps round the ground and as usual was hardly noticed walking through

I presume is it to do with not holding up the queue to get in for people wanted scorecards. Makes sense to have a seller inside but I would have thought the Hayes close end will have the least visitors compared to the other 2 gates to warrant it

Thanks for feedback, will ensure all areas of the ground are visited by the sellers. We opted to not sell from the kiosks so that people can enter quickly into the ground. Thanks

Thanks Danny.
I appreciate queues can build up at the entrance for one day games, but for 4 day games it is not an issue.

Are you sure it wasn't 11:37am ?

Great to to know the club listened, and responded.
Scorecards on sale at the Hayes Close  gate for the Lancs game.
Well done.

However, due to the large area sealed off for Sky and the sightscreen, the Hayes Close end was very small - not much you can do about that.
But there was no steward for the members only section, and all and sundry wandered in (ie the public) and this filled the small space very quickly, meaning some regular Hayes Close end members were unable to sit there.
Why was no steward checking membership cards, there were five staff on the Hayes Close gate?
You want to attract new members, it would be a start if you looked after your current members.
