I did say tend.

Whereas Essex always falling at the final hurdle is a trend.

What you posting on the "crash-bang-wallop" forum anyway. Thought it was beneath you?

I'm not overly anti the format in general.

I am anti Essex's approach however as it has made our county side a national laughing stock.

Essex Eagles squad to face Surrey:

Mark Pettini (24)
Jesse Ryder (76)
Tom Westley (21)
Ravi Bopara (25)
Ryan ten Doeschate (27) (Captain)
Ben Foakes (4)
James Foster (7) (Wicket-keeper)
Tim Phillips (23)
Graham Napier (17)
David Masters (9)
Matt Salisbury (18)
Reece Topley (6)
Greg Smith (83)
Sajid Mahmood (19)

A couple of players including Masters to have fitness tests before the game.  Is Mills injured again?  He was 12th man in the last CC game.

The last time i remember Mills playing was the 2nd Xi game against Somerset 24-26 June, not sure whether he got injured.

Was Napier the other one for a fitness test?

Doesnt say it says

With a couple of players due to undergo fitness tests ahead of the game, the Eagles will select from a 14-man squad. One of those in doubt is bowler David Masters who is troubled by a foot injury sustained in the LV= County Championship match versus Gloucestershire. “He’s been for a scan and we’ll wait and see what the results of those are and what he’s like tomorrow”, Head Coach Paul Grayson explained.

It's been bucketing it down in Mancs since around 12pm. Not moving very quickly, so hopefully Chelmsford will escape it, but if not it'll mean a NR because its pretty persistent.

Think we should be ok to get a result tonight although Essex vs Surrey matches at Chelmsford have been rain affected over the years in t20 inc. a NR or two - they also seem to win at Chelmsford a few times (the opposite at The Oval!)

Tricky chase like Middx but a fair start.

There was barely a person in the ground who weren't overjoyed when KP blocked that maiden the proceeded to get to a left arm spinner yet again, moment of the night!!!

Whatever the result of this match, Pietersen's 1 run from 11 balls is a delight.

Not so much slaughter of the innocents but slaughter of the arrogants.

KP, your boys one hell of a beating...   :P :P :P :P :P :P

You can do better than that Andy.  I would suggest 'Alec Stewart, Micky Stewart, John Major, Sir Bruce Forsyth, Mick Jagger, Charles Colville your boys took one hell of a beating.

No idea if Sir Brucie likes cricket but he lives in Surrey and Jagger, although an alumni of Dartford Grammar, is always at the Oval test so I'll tag him a Sorry supporter.

There were some stats in the Gloucs program on our T20 win records against each county.  Can't recall them exactly but our record against Sorry is very impressive - long may it continue.
