Good result, player of the match: Duckworth-Lewis.

Why?  We were well on course without Duckworth Lewis.

You keep mentioning the cheerleaders.  We don't have them at Chelmsford

Ah, that must be because ECCC take T20 seriously.

It won't be long before 11 balls per side with underarm bowling at a defenceless set of stumps will become the next Murdoch gimmick. The result being decided by which cheerleader can kick her legs the highest and in the event of a tie, which pop artist has most recently appeared before a Crown Court.

I suspect that the lack of cheerleaders is yet another reason why Mr Diatribe doesn't attend matches at Chelmsford.

Actually Fire, its the lack of my favourite air, Frédéric Chopin's Marche Funèbre accompanying the batsmen to the crease. ;)

But it certainly helped. Not taking away from Swampy, of course.

Its always perplexed me why such a talented limited overs player couldn't manage to adapt his technique, develop some concentration powers and excel at the longer form of the game.

I can telly you why. The vast majority of his runs come square of the wicket and through the slips area. In the bish-bash stuff there are no slips ...

I fully appreciate this, Nat, hence my observation regarding adapting his technique and developing a modicum of concentration prowess.

Could, I suspect, be arranged!

As much as I prefer Championship cricket this week will show exactly the way our club is heading - tomorrow (most do not have work) - probably 25 percent attendance - T20 sold out !
