Gloucestershire, are to support a reduction in games, if they get guarantees regarding the Cheltenham Festival. In Wisden Cricketer, there is a piece about the remaining Championship Festival grounds. Gloucestershire now loses a six-figure sum on the festival. The new CEO, is talking about initiatives next season. Which, sound, to me as a combination of deckchairs and the Titanic.

Yes I posted that earlier. I attended some of the Cheltenham Festival for the Lancs game - attendance was good with 2400 on day one. New people in charge and lots of past cricketers talking about their careers in Stephen Chalke's tent. Vic Marks, Roland Butcher, Roger Knight, Andy Moles, Bob Barker [great stories about Boycott], Fred Rumsey and more.

Why do members at many counties seemingly accept such a major decision on the future of the domestic professional game without their input (as owners of their respective county clubs)?

Are they not bothered? Are they lazy? Are they unaware of their rights as members/owners? Are they apathetic?

Nat, I think a lot of people think the ECB have already decided and will fix the vote.

Major fallout in Lancs as they were promised a vote but weren't offered the option to keep 14 CC matches.

The ECB has just given all the counties UKP 400K as the first payment from the H*ndr*d sale, so I think they'll be confident they can get their preferred option through with the rest of the cash to follow.

400k butter up for accountants to tick the right boxes, members views go into the shredder .

It's all kicking off at Lanky. An SGM has been called with the objective of removing the chairman.

A mixture of the three I would say. Essex members are certainly not immune to that.

Feedback only from survey and club position at present is no change .

No vote or date - only feedback to ECB .

Club happy to have SGM at present.

Players PCA rep Sam Cook  stated they want reduction in cricket due to players welfare with short turn around in games and to much travel not enough rest recovery and fear quality is being diminishing the majority view of members .

Next season T20 to be finished before Hundred .

Club rather have CC games to start Thursdays .

Chris Silverwood backs return to Dukes ball .

Everybody rather have types of cricket played in blocks .

Eh?
How are the club intending to vote?
Will they vote in accordance with members' wishes?

When will they call the SGM?

No vote has been scheduled as yet but we were told we favour retaining 14 CC games as now or 14 games with 8/10 split.
