Questionnaire
« on: July 11, 2025, 05:28:05 PM »
I hope everyone will take the time to answer this questionnaire.

I have asked for a members vote on any proposal to reduce CC matches.

Good. Yawkshur in the guise of Graves are trying to circumvent their members' previous instruction to require a vote.

I have had a call from a Lancashire member as their questionnaire and options are different. They are collecing information from different County's members to try to understand if 'manipulation' is going in.

If anyone has friends who are members of different counties could you ask them what they have been asked?

I've done this for Kent and Gloucestershire.

You may be aware that today (Wed 30/7) Alan Higham (Lanky member and anti-ECB activist) was present at the ECG collecting signatures  on a petition requesting an SGM of the club to discuss the ECB proposal for a reduction in the county fixture list.

Alan made a specific journey to the ECG today for this purpose and should be commended.

He collected 250 signatures which he was intending to present to the club today.

I hope you had the opportunity to sign the petition and did so.

The club has been very quiet on its intentions on this subject which suggests they intend to ignore members wishes, however expressed.

If you support the campaign, lead in large part by Alan then please do whatever you can to persuade the club to reject the ECB proposals.

I had an e-mail from Alan saying that Essex was the only county that hadn't made their position clear and that our vote was crucial to blocking the change.

Of the 18 counties there are apparently 10 counties in favour of a reduction in fixtures (many counties have disregarded the view of their members).

6 counties are against.

Essex and Gloucestershire have yet to declare.

There needs to be 12 counties in favour for the motion to pass.

Don't let the Essex hierarchy run roughshod over the views of members.

Gloucs have said this: 'We will agree to 12 if the ECB promise to schedule 2 county championship games during the school summer holidays". Given the plans to play the Blast in July including the quarter finals and the final) and the Hundred in August, then it seems likely that the 2 championship games to be lost will the ones played in July at present.  Gloucestershire may or may not agree to the reduction."

I signed the petition. You had to give your membership number. So there was no signing as Mr C Lion of London Zoo, and the suchlike.

His petition has had a lot more success than another petition, specifically for Essex. That one was taken round by someone, who is the model for the American joke about having someone from the Shop Floor as an Executive. His friend, looked as though he would run himself over, with his new electric car.

There was one member, who refused to sign. The reason he supports the reduction in games, as it involves less workload on the players. Ah, diddums.

I have also received an invitation.

Now to arrange for anyone who refused to sign the petition. A prank invite to a personal meeting at 10 Downing Street.

I have a question about the development, and the retail side of it.

How many, have completed their Bingo card of all the vacant retail premises at the moment in Chelmsford. That have had a visit from The Bailiffs.
