A couple of great innings by Tom Westley and Michael Pepper which not only turned the tide of the match but resulted in a new record for the 6th wicket against Hampshire. The old record was 160 by TE Bailey (141*) & BR Knight (84) set at Westcliff in 1956 and the new record is 215 by T Westley (130*) & MS Pepper (140) at Chelmsford 2025.
The score of 140 took Michael Pepper's Career Personal Best 1st Class score from 115.
During this match Matt Critchley took his Essex First Class runs beyond 2500 and Simon Harmer achieved 500 First Class wickets for Essex
