Or tell Rossington that all home games are being played at Billericay and this return fixture, is being played at Weston-Super-Mere.

Or his local Greggs. He'll be there like a shot.

The commentators have lost their screen and are panicking. Try, looking out of the window.

Do Somerset realise that, it is over 20 overs, not 10.

Could say the same to the Essex players.

We need to accept we are a bit crap

Yes we usually lose to these and hants and then cobble together some results to get us close but can't see that this season.

You have to admire the optimism of Nick Gledhill. He was adamant that 180+ was on the cards when Critch was going well. We all knew that was never a possibility with an unproven middle order and a long tail.

As for Anthony Gibson.....

Rosso needs to come out of the team, let Allison open. Badly missing Cox.

Lose to Middlesex & the team should probably disband.

I think Cox is scheduled to play for the England Lions on Friday (if he's recovered from injury), so he'll miss the next round of matches too (Glamorgan away, Middlesex home).

Somerset have been more astute with their overseas players and sadly Amir is a shadow of what he was the last time he played for Essex (I hope I'm proved wrong). Having white ball only players: Smeed, Kohler-Kadmore, also makes a big difference. Essex just look tired, uninspired and low on confidence.

I still wouldn't put it past them to put some wins together though.

I do love your optimism Penguin. Sadly positivity not enough to win matches.
Admittedly we have faced two of the strongest sides but this is groundhog day.
I would love to know what thought process went into selecting Amir. He is not even a shadow of his former self.
In the immortal words of Fraser(Dad?s Army), we are all doomed.

What is there to grip about, watched a masterclass of batting by Root for the cause against the WIndies. Batting at its best.

What footage of Amir, did they watch? Surely, it was not material from a few years ago. When he was nowhere near looking over the hill.

There are obvious holes in the squad. I know I keep saying it but finances are obviously tight. Fast bowling resources stretched (and could worsen if Cook does get another call up). I understand the Amir signing. Doubt he costs the earth, and his recent form is good (last 2 T20 comps over the winter he took 14 wickets @ 23 with an econ of 8.3 and 13 wickets at 18 with an econ of 7.7).
I think our mistake is giving Rossington a white ball deal, and signing Elgar for the T20 (although I think part of getting Elgar to join was he played T20).
Shame no one in the seconds is putting their hand up for a go.

I have a lot of time for Joe Root. Obviously a class bat able to adapt and actually think for himself.

I suspect that he was being pushed to join the bazball lemmings but has focused on actually scoring runs and winning matches instead. I wonder if the bigger egos undermined his captaincy although as A Cook showed the best batsman is not always the one to give the armband to.  Like Big Chef Root seems relatively normal.
