Terrific bowling and fielding from us for much of that innings but just lost the plot a bit in the final couple of overs, with drops and some poor balls. Maybe Walter could have bowled more at the death, thought he did a superb job when given just one over towards the end.

Commentators saying the average score for the first semi-final is 159 - OTOH the boundaries have been brought in more than usual today because of residual water on the outfield. Match probably about even at this stage, I reckon.

171 chase. That's going to be tough. Hampshire slight favourites I think.

Only slight. About 10 runs above par.

Yet again Snater does his usual—getting the absolutely vital wicket—Vince .
Leave Beard out if we reach the final.

Took only 2.5 overs to see that the Hampshire bowling attack is far too good for us. 171 is too much, so our best chance is a reduced game and DLS working in our favour.

Revised target 115 from 12. Needs Pepper or Lawrence (or Sams) to really come off.

Pepper is a one trick pony. When the trick fails there is nothing else.

Sangakkara unimpressed by Lawrence's shot selection. "Not very smart at all". Then Walter absolutely plumb, and burns a review into the bargain. Wheels coming off.

Yes! Well done Sams, Critchley and Harmer. A reduced game is never satisfactory, but a win
is a great win. Phew.

Never say die. Thought we were imploding with that clatter of wickets earlier. Crucial innings from Sams and Critchley.

Winning with a six in the final over should henceforth be known as The Essex Way.
