 A wins a win .
Beat the sides at the lower reaches, and lose to the top comprehensively. Know where to improve to progress.
Work in progress for Ravi’s side, progress with the bat required still,  which puts us under are own pressure for the Eagles.

Judging by the comments tonight, we don’t need a batting coach as much as a sports psychologist, conveying to our less than convincing batsmen, how to absorb pressure and cut out I’ll judged shots.

Are these not  mental lapses rather than physical ones?

Pleased as I am for Rossington, his technique, notably lack of foot movement, and thus not hitting in line with the ball, dictates, feast or famine. When he comes off, can be impressive, but it is not often enough.

Let’s see how he copes tomorrow against Kent which is on Sky.

Pepper seems to be showing real promise, playing match defining innings.

Wasn't that simply a case of trying to chase the target very quickly to claw back some of the run rate damage caused by the Hants defeat? Shame the Kent game is on Sky. I stopped having their channel when they scaled back county coverage, although I suppose Kent charge for You Tube anyway.

Sky occasionally show games on their Youtube channel for free.  They showed the Surrey v Middlesex match on there and according to this the Kent v Essex game is due to be shown as well.

Good victory last night, thanks very much again down to some excellent bowling.  Sussex were dreadful but you can only beat what's in front of you, so the job was well done. Same scenario tonight as Kent look very poor too, so hopefully if the bowlers bowl as well again,  then we should win.
