Rossington really should be left out if Pepper is ok to keep.  If they stick with him who do they leave out if Khushi comes back in?  Lawrence will come in for either Allison or Snater.

I think IF both Rossington (who really MUST be in the last chance saloon this match!) and Pepper play, then I’d have thought Walter would have been the one to drop out. Yes that takes away a potential bowling option BUT he’s only bowled three overs in the last three matches so wouldn’t be a big loss.

I’d be surprised if Walter was left out.  He played well last year, he bowls and he’s also our only left handed batter.  Tactically that’s often pretty important in T20.  Against leg spinners like Shadab tomorrow and left armers like Linde on Wednesday they’ll want to use him.  His height is also an advantage when it comes to fielding in certain positions as well.
I think they’ll either leave out Rossington, Westley or perhaps use the excuse that Khushi is not yet 100%.

Last chance for Rossington caught.  I would open with Das and Khushi, followed by Pepper, and then  Rossington caught. If he fails again time to rest him.

It’s actually quite impressive how often he manages to pick out an outfielder so precisely when there is only 2 of them outside the circle in the powerplay.

I hesitate to say Essex should get 148, but they really should.

Good bowling performance. Cook immaculate, Walter impressive, fielding excellent.

Could do this in singles but no, both Das and Walter play silly shots, not needed in the match situation.  What does the batting coach do?

Why does watching Essex make me so angry? Some of our players are utterly brainless. Lawrence played a shot an U9 would be ashamed of. Then when we need 5 an over off around 13 overs, Walter and Das play ridiculous shots. Who is doing something about this? Haven’t we got a single player who can judge the state of the game and play accordingly? Surely a strong/good coach and captain can get some sense into our batsmen

A good win after two defeats.

For Lawrence, the constant trekking (ok to Lord's most recently) back and forth with England can't help.

Good to see Sams and Critchley getting runs after Pepper's fine innings, Rossington also hit a couple of mighty sixes, but that still managed not to be convincing.

I agree - his bowling was superb.
