Hampshire (H)
« on: June 02, 2023, 02:45:01 PM »
The same squad for tonight's match vs Hampshire. Could they be tempted to play Nijjar? (I'm guessing no, but you never know). And if Pepper is fit to keep will he come in for Rossington?:

Harmer, Allison, Cook, Critchley, Das, Khushi, Lawrence, Nijjar, Pepper, Rossington, Sams, Snater, Walter, Westley

Have made a good start to the competition and would be nice to keep it up tonight. Expect the same team again although Rossington MUST be treading on egg shells tonight in the last chance saloon!!

;D Big surprise. They must be expecting a raging bunsen. Putting a lot of faith in Walter's bowling (or Sams):

Rossington, Khushi, Lawrence, Critchley, Walter, Das, Westley, Sams, Harmer, Nijjar, Cook

Essex won the toss and will field.

Probably a plan against McDermott, might be crap statistically against left-arm spin. Then again, Hampshire dropping their leggie looks to be a masterstroke, because Critchley's going around the park.

It appears we're getting Vince'd. Not for the first time and probably not the last. Some player at domestic level.

One of the great cricket mysteries is why Vince has never made it at international level. The most talented English batsman of his generation...and I include Root.

Hants have got at least 20 too many.

Oof. For a while after Vince was out it looked like we'd pegged them back but 214 is going to take some chasing.

Got to acknowledge that knock by Vince. The way he kept bisecting the fielders was remarkable. One of the best T20 innings I've seen.

We'd done so well to pull it back, then 21 off the last over. If we end up losing by a fine margin, that will be the key over. We should have been chasing 205 tops.

Such is the nuances of T20 cricket. Harmer takes a hat-trick to break the game last night, tonight concedes a huge critical 20th over.

Be a good night for Slim Shady to please stand up...

It appears that 'Slim' didn't hit it. Tough one.

And let's face it he was lucky to last even that long. He was in kamikaze mode for most of that innings.
