Glamorgan (H)
« on: July 02, 2022, 05:25:25 PM »
Glamorgan won the toss and put Essex in to bat.

Unchanged team:

Rossington, Das, Pepper, Lawrence, Walter, Westley, Sams, Harmer, Beard, Allison, Cook

If my maths are correct, there's chance of a home semi-final if Essex win and Somerset lose to Surrey.

254/5! The Essex batting record in T20 so you can't ask for more than that. Great hitting from Rossington, Walter and Lawrence. They ought to be able to defend this, surely?

Not that I'm complaining, but with Glamorgan 8/2 it is lacking a bit of jeopardy.

Should be great for the net run rate though.

That is the 8th consecutive T20 Toss that we have lost now, but what the hell - doesn’t seem to matter much any more !!

Closing in on Nasser's record of 10, although I think that's in tests. Must be an Essex thing. I wonder how Keith Fletcher fared.

It was great to see such a comprehensive win. I said before the start that this could be a decent side, I admit that I'm surprised that's turned out to be true. The quarter final is still going to be tough, but it's all so much better than last year.

I think Nasser's record was 14 ... I used to have the article on my classroom wall when I taught probability.

Slog fest Essex batted them out the game . A brutal win by the Eagles. Also the most perfect performance a side could muster .
Das still making his way in the side, but playing a expansive game looks foreign to him or was he struggling to get the pace of the pitch first off.
Dan did not field, did he get a twinge on the hammy ?
