Kent (H)
« on: June 07, 2022, 06:11:22 PM »
Essex won the toss and chose to chase- setting a total hasn't worked out well for the last few years.

Unchanged team:

Rossington, Buttleman, Pepper, Critchley, Walter, Sams, Westley, Harmer, Nijjar, Allison, Cook

They *should* be able to chase 131. Good bowling performance.

Excellent win with 27 balls left. Can't argue with that team performance. Top bowling all round (with the exception of Nijjar who is having a 'mare this season) and great innings from Pepper. Only marred by the You Tube stream being taken down with a message saying "copyright claim by the England and Wales cricket board"). So the ECB really do hate Essex.

Don’t think it matters really if we keep winning the toss!! (5 out of 5 matches won by “the toss”, so far this year!)

Also had the same problem on stream, overall was excellent coverage but then tended to replay every
ball at the start of the Essex innings without reply signage, so did not know which ball was live or not.
On the field, totally agree with the above comments, it worked not letting the spinner open the bowling this time which reduced the visitors getting off to a brisk start.

I was at Chelmsford, many empty seats and even corporate wasnt fully supported, must be a worry, thanks ECB 100.

Sams looked more than decent last night and the fielding was the best I have seen this season, Kent looked very poor apart from Klaassen whose opening spell was as good in terms of economy as I have seen.

I am not a fan of the ECB 100 but I am not too sure that it can be totally blamed.

Scheduling the match on a Tuesday was always going to lead to issues with ticket sales, plus many corporates are only just starting to go back to entertaining clients. Plus some  are already trimming their budgets.

It *can* be totally blamed. If it didn't exist then the T20 Blast could be scheduled during July/August.

...

Don't forget that Essex and the other counties took the ECB 'bribe' money to facilitate the *undred. Only got themselves to blame.

This happened on a stream I was watching last year.

I notice that a number of YT channels were running live streams either recorded from a screen or with the sound or pictures partially obscured. Was this the problem?

The streams appear to be unofficial. I was watching one with a constant message advertisng a 50 rupee dice game.

I had click onto another link, which is not recommended. Suggest stick  to the official counties websites. Can see a official logging and password scenario like watching football on Ifollow in the not to distance future.
