Absolutely staggered at the squad.

How on earth can Roy and Butter both be selected?

So pseudo that he has a double first from Cambridge? Doesn't necessarily make him a good selector, agreed, but I don't think you can accuse him of being thick.

Quite a few candidates to replace Buttler - Ollie Pope being the obvious one. Dawid Malan, maybe, for some grit, experience add a good record against the Aussies
For opening, yep, the cupboard is pretty bare. Throw in a newbie (sibley/Crawley), go back to a used-but-rejected bod (Stoneman, Robson) or promote Denley to opener. Several options, none of them very good.
