Same squad as yesterday.  No mention of Bopara and Chopra again.  Atleast a batsman short again.  They don't learn.

I'll go with ....they have both been dropped. No T20 form this season so fair enough.

Bopara has batted twice if you don't include facing the last ball against Surrey and bowled well.  Santner batted at 7 last night.  No one can think he's a better option than Bopara, surely.

Santner?!

Now he may get into the team!  Snater not so much!

At least Quinn is not playing. Beard bowled well.

How is Snater still in the team ??

Lawrence seems much improved in this format this year.

Well, Heisenberg you don’t need an answer to that question? Being famous for the uncertainty principle...

Well done Essex, ever unpredictable and the most annoying, frustrating occasionally brilliant team, reaching the highest of highs, then crashing to the lowest of lows.

The patience of Job and optimism of Delboy is required to support Essex these days, especially T20, where team selection is arbitrary at best and capricious at worst.

We still love you though.

From SH's post match interview it seems clear that VC and RB have been dropped.

Such is the shallowness of T20 cricket any team can go from champs to chumps (or vice versa) overnight.

Doesn't say whether or not for cricketing reasons.  I suspect not.  The fact is they were both in the squad for the Gloucester match last Saturday.  Not a ball bowled and then out of the squad for the next match.

Great knock from Westley and it was one of the innings where Delport came off, so overall a good win that JUST keeps our hopes alive.
Trouble is we will now no doubt keep them same team for the next match and we won’t get away with such a weak batting line up and also effectively playing 10 men (Snater is nowhere near good enough) for many games as we won’t play a weak team like Gloucestershire every match!

A great result , for me totally unexpected after Thursday's debacle, but very well done to Essex. We are just about in contention having already equalled last year's 2 wins. Two wins next week would be good.
