AB De Villiers
« on: January 10, 2019, 05:42:49 PM »
According to tonight;s Evening Standard he is available for the T20 Domestic competition this Summer (all of it) as he is not involved in the WC, also 6 Counties (unnamed) have expressed an interest in signing him - I hope we are among them although finance may well be a problem. What a coup for whoever gets him, a world class performer guaranteed to put bums on seats like Chris Gayle did when he played for Somerset. I'd love us to be the County he played for but extremely unlikely!

I am going to say one word

$URREY!!!!

Would love him to join one of the smaller counties.  For some reason, I think Middx could be an outside bet.  A player like that, available for the whole duration could take a team to the tittle on his own almost

I'd sell most of my bodily organs if it would help Essex sign him. Go for it.

Would the club confirm that it is one of the counties interested in signing AB DeVilliers for the 2019 T20 season.

He would need to at Middx.

Probably the only southern T20 team that is worse than Essex.

There is, sadly, absolutely no doubt that Surrey (The Manchester City / Chelsea of Cricket) will sign him.

Perhaps we should send him some pictures of Sarf London, burning buildings, Brixton, Peckham etc. Then send him some pictures of Billericay, Shenfield, Danbury.

Danbury yes. Colchester. Billericay? Might as well show him Witham...
