Interesting bowling figures

S Cook   4.0   0   46   1   11.50
Siddle   4.0   0   33   1   8.25
Coles   3.0   0   47   0   15.67
Harmer   3.0   0   23   1   7.67
Walter   3.0   0   33   0   11.00
Zaidi           2.0   0   23   0   11.50
Bopara   1.0   0   2   0   2.00

If he's not injured that's a joke, surely.  Not the first time something like this has happened in the T20.

The captain and the coaches have been so inept it's untrue in this comp.

15 sixes in the Middx innings. I'm guessing the pitch is on the edge of the square with a 'garden sized' boundary to at least one side of the ground.

Boom Boom does it again at Lords. We've found a team that is worse at T20 than we are. Well done.

Far too little & far too late but Well Done to the team for winning tonight & avoiding bottom place, we are actually better placed than last year - 7th against 8th but nowhere near good enough overall.
I just hope now that Kent lose to Somerset & we beat them tomorrow & Sussex & Glam both win & Kent & Surrey don't qualify - Happy Days!!

That ain't happening unless Coles has a point to prove.

Shows you how bad Middlesex are when our only two wins have been against them 😂

I think we need to give some credit to Essex this time.  Bear in mind that due to our bowling we allowed them to get the highest ever Middlesex Lord's score,  and we chased it down against all odds.  Good to see Lawrence get some form in t20 as it's not his natural game

Don't be too harsh on our bowlers.

As one Middlesex member commented " with the shortest Tavern side boundary in living memory".

This match may have been academic in terms of significance to the table, but the most heartening statistic for me is Lawrence’s 86 off 46 balls, including four sixes.

A match winning knock and one which I hope will fully restore any confidence lost, through an indifferent season. All we need now is for Westley to wake up, and we have a revitalised team.

One swallow does not make a Summer, and tonight’s match against Kent, will be a pointer, but with further rounds of The Championship coming up, this result, may just prove the kick start for Essex to get back on track and start playing to their true potential.

Ravi’s bowling stint does indeed raise questions. Did he feel a twinge or slight strain which prevented him bowling more?

Zaidi’s crucial gem of an innings,  which propelled us over the line, only begs the question, why we have not seen more of him, and throws more serious questions to RTD and coaching staff of their apparent continual ignoring of a resource which could have been the difference between winning and losing close games.

What is Daniel Vettori doing as a specialist T20 coach at Middlesex ?

On a 3 year deal. First year they finished bottom of the table with us. This year bottom again.

Never mind that how long is our specialist coach's contract & can we convince Hants to take him off our hands?
