The great Kentish beer debate

For those who think Masters spew would be on a par with Master Brew.

As a number of you will be aware, I raised this issue with the club over ther past 2 seasons.  Shephed neame are basically the clubs biggest contract and it's worth a lot of money.

Unfortunately this has had the effect of a compromise on the actual quality of the beer, which in my opinion, is downright awful at best, let alone the irony of being sponsored by a Kentish Brewery.

Are you saying that Shepherd Neame are deliberately sending us duff beer?

Still the club are experts at selling shoddy product I suppose.

Lol.  No sir, I'm not.  What I'm saying is that in return for a big cash influx and discount on the product, we, the members and supporters are being given a lesser product than would be available from somebody like Adnams.

We have made numerous suggestions of a proper beer festival in the ground, and it's fallen on deaf ears.

"We've got a number of Shepherd and Neame guest beers brewed specifically for ECCC".

We have a huge area of space to utilise.  What about offering it to CAMRA to put the beer fest in, during the summer.  It's such an easy win it's ridiculous.  Even if there wasn't a game on, the club would benefit.  If there was a game on, think of the possibility of recruiting new membership......

No Change.

The thing is a decent brewer like Adnams would probably sell more beer long term.

I refuse to buy beer in the ground & I can't be the only one boycotting Shepherd Neame's swill.

You don't like the coach, the captain, the cricket and now the beer.  Is there anything that you do like?

Masters & Napier toil manfully.

& Topley looks a prospect.

But that's about it I'm afraid.

I take it you enjoy a pint of Master Spew then?

I was drinking the Sam Adams Boston "lager" last season.  However, it's a bit lively after about 5pints, and in fact, so am I.  I even asked whether the car park would still be open this forthcoming season at one point. ;)

Sam Adams is okay as it's brewed under licence.

The inmates at the Springfield Road Brewery do a pretty potent hooch and their prices are quite reasonable.

Unfortunately, I can't personally vouch for the potency of their particular brew, Blocky, because I don't participate in the consumption of alcohol.  I've heard the side effects can be detrimental to one's health and occasionally result in the appearance of male pregnancy. ;D
