Chesterfield week

Sad to see the whole week wiped out by the weather. Reportedly a lovely ground, one which I'd like to visit at some time if it survives the reduction in fixtures next year.

Shocking in this day and age to lose 5 days to the weather. Must have cost them a lot of money.

This is not a one off unfortunately. There have been days lost at Chesterfield in recent seasons for the same problems about drainage and the outfield. Rather similar to Colchester as it is a park venue with all that entails. Sadly people may use this as an excuse to do away with such grounds.

I was fortunate to visit there a few years back - it is indeed a lovely ground close to the town centre.

I had a great few days staying in the area - it is very sad to see these outgrounds disappearing.

Yes it really is sad to see outgrounds going and all on the back of some form of T20 franchise league which will presumably line the pockets of some world elite T20 specialists and do not much for anyone or anything else - especially if it's on satellite TV.
