Club Administration / Re: Rachel Lewis - New Chair

Sorry to bang on about  this. It is not personal or a dig at women's place/role in cricket. I don't know anything about the new chair ( nor I expect do the overwhelming proportion of members - which is an issue in itself I suppose) nor would I have any problem with any woman elected to the board becoming the Chair. I do have a problem with co opting somebody unelected by any member to the most senior role in the club. Is she even a member of the club? Who knows?

I sincerely hope she does well and is a boon to the club but the principle for me is about transparency and democracy.

JF was at pretty much at every game home and away and always had time to speak to members/spectators even the a nightmare ones. Assume she will as well! Not that the last 2 did

I'll be at the ground on Sunday, if anyone would like to say hi or get anything off their chest!

See you there, Daren

"Middlesex have been charged with misconduct for the third time in four years and face further off-field disruption after sacking the chief executive Andrew Cornish in June.

The charges brought by the cricket regulator are understood to relate to Cornish?s alleged behaviour towards another Middlesex employee, who made a formal complaint about his conduct last November.  ...... "

Yep as expected Daren re. my comments Vs you being elected and the grumbler not, I think the membership knows you have the best interests of the club and members at heart and are completely approachable to shoot the breeze and have been elected for the right reasons.

England Test / Re: McCullum gone.

And Stephen Fleming is the new coach with Joe Root as captain. I'm pleased they didn't go for Harry Brook, who is well suited to lead in the white ball stuff, and it's too early for Jacob Bethell. As for Fleming, he was a very good player who made the best of his talent. Probably the kind of coach England need at the moment.

John Stephenson used to mingle with the members, from time to time as well. John Faragher related that when he raised issues about the club, with the previous CEO. He got a rendition of the song, things can only get better.
