Sorry - how does this choice of day/time help working people? It's not a match day either ...

Hold it on a match day at a weekend next time ...

..... give Danny a break; we don't have any more matches at the week-end !!!

Although I might have gone for an evening when England weren't playing  ......... wait a minute, perhaps that was why he picked that date !!!!

Hardly think that's fair, we need to hold a meeting sooner rather than later, if we did a match day we would be asking members and supporters to stay around for a couple of hours to cater for those not at the game

How about having a open to all tent open  DURING Championship match , access to all .

That is also something we can and will consider for one of final two games, however a focus group is exactly that a focus on certain subjects

With people coming and going we would lose the flow

Thanks

Thanks, Danny

I see no mention of the promised consultation regarding the ground redevelopment. I would suggest that if, as stated you value feedback, then this significant aspect is added. You never know it may even persuade some more people to make an effort to attend.....
I realise you have to operate in an environment of vested interests and unnecessary secrecy, Danny, but how about a bit of boldness?

Thanks for post, the consultation will take place on a separate date, that will obviously be a one item agenda that will attract a number of people to attend.

For the focus group we ideally want 12-15 people to share their views, suggestions etc

Thanks

I suppose it depends on what hours you work.  I'm sort of 0700-1800 normally, but I would think that Danny would be looking at a 9-5 average day, and in which case, a 1930 start on a Wednesday evening, with coffee and cake seems pretty ok with me.  Even I should be able to make that unless yet another poor soul decides to do themselves a mischief at Romford.

This promises to be a much more interesting agenda. May I suggest that in advance of such a meeting, participants are provided with a report of the current state of the development, the options open to the Club and projected timescales.?

I'm afraid that communication on the whole development project has been poor. The last dated posting on the website appeared more than a year ago. An undated posting, possibly early this year, included the statement:

"Work will now start on reviewing the original plans to ensure that they meet our requirements in that we build the facilities that will serve the needs of the modern game, our members, sponsors and supporters."

As a member and supporter, I would welcome a comprehensive update and the chance to express some views to help you meet your objective. It's a tad more important that discussing the choice of beers.

Will the topic of the security be brought up at this focus group Danny because the constant need for bag checks and their presence puts me and misses off renewing our memberships which we haven't done since 2012 whereas when we go to other counties they either don't have bag checks or if they do it's just the normal stewards who are happy to take your word when you say you have no alcohol on you - I don't see the need for the heavy handed approach at Chelmsford and we won't be renewing until that changes I'm afraid so I very much hope this is a topic of discussion?  The final straw was being asked to check my bag on the river gate by the security person for the ICC t20 event back in June when there was one man and his dog also watching...

Blimey you're easily put off. I don't like the overbearing security as much as the next man but please ... get a life.

Personally I don't have a problem with bag checking, the Stewards are usually ok when carrying it out & I know it has to be done. I'd rather this than somebody get in with a package they shouldn't have which could cause damage/injuries, you never know these days!!

No one will target a cricket match come on - if it was that much of a requirement why do so few counties perform them??  It also slows down getting into the ground

The handling of the ground redevelopment has been nothing short of a disgrace, communication has been  virtually non existent throughout this long and protracted enterprise and when the topic is discussed at members forums it seems no one at the top table has much of a clue what's going on themselves. We have gone from talk of leaving the site while work is carried out to staying put now we're moving out again, the details of the cricketing aspect of the redevelopment are up in the air, members haven't got a clue what they will be getting or when. Car parking is shrouded in mystery and with good reason, if there are any members left in five years time good luck in getting parked. Any benefits for spectators come last after the gross overdevelopment of the site and it remains to be seen whether there will be enough money raised to provide more than a lick of paint. It is a moot point as to whether this development is justifiable, wanted or viable even if everything went to "plan" but as the club show their usual disregard for members and their universal inability to communicate ,the publics opinions and assumptions will only get worse for this horrendously convoluted vanity project.

I don't disagree with your sentiments, some of which I have already expressed. Danny has offered to have a single agenda meeting (see reply#9 above) to discuss the development.

Danny, can you give an indication of when this meeting will be scheduled?

the lady members present were extremely positive, interactive and made intelligent comment throughout.  From my experiences in the TPU they would make an immediate impression!
They would also increase the IQ in the pavilion area significantly!

Not saying much.

Joey Essex probably has a higher IQ than the Essex Committee combined.
