Ravi Bopara

I hope many board members saw Ravi?s innings last night propelling Northants to a thrilling seven run victory against Surrey at the Oval.
In what must be one of his finest innings he smashed an undefeated 105 from 46 balls, rescuing his side from a nightmare start losing two wickets in the first over in a rain reduced match to 14 overs.
The night certainly belonged to Bopara and his team but spare a thought to Sam Curran, yes I do mean that, for countering with a belligerent 69 off 38 balls which so nearly carried Surrey to a win.
Credit must go to the Surrey  ground staff and umpires  for enabling the match to go ahead in very difficult conditions, bowlers struggling with a wet ball and fielders slipping and sliding in a squelchy outfield.
Purists can argue this was only a T20 match but the skill shown by both sides will remain in my memory for a long time.
A victory for cricket.

Indeed. There is nothing wrong with T20 Blast as it generates monies for the game as a whole not just ten counties.
