Essex Women v Middlesex
« on: April 21, 2019, 09:49:46 AM »
Not seen it mentioned anywhere. The Essex Women are playing at Chelmsford today against Middlesex. I imagine  quite a big deal for the girls to be playing at HQ, normally they get shipped to the likes of Southend all season. Free entry so if anyone’s going, have fun and be sure to give some stick to the Middlesex player Griffith (former Essex captain who left them in the winter).  ;)

It was regularly mentioned at the match on Friday - so much so I thought it was rather 'over kill'.

Agreed. The PA guy was getting on everybody's nerves.

No change there then.

Whilst not defending the PA guy , in fairness he is probably told to plug what he does & how regularly to do so, that being said some of it is over the top & he doesn't really need to come on at 10am advising us about the impending toss at 10.30etc. Put it this way I often long for the more measured tones of Tony Choat & wish we heard him for 1 day matches.

Indeed. If a PA guy has an annoying voice then fair enough but what he’s being told to say will have come from the club.

Anyway the girls showed the men how to chase a target down against Middlesex. They had a few Kia Super League players in their side whilst our girls are pretty much all semi pro I assume. Well done to them!
