The obsession with having to have two overseas players for this is bewildering. The Bravo decision at the time was a disgrace and a craven waste of money as well as a kick in the teeth for those who got us to the final stages. In this instance ,good player that Tanim is, I would thought it marginal that he would have done much better than Wheater, Lawrence or even Browne. Worse still it denies home grown players the experience of playing in this format. We seem to be able to conjure up the cash at a drop of a hat to acquire expensive and risky - for whatever reason- overseas talent, for all forms of the game but of course forking out to hold a festival a la Derbyshire, Kent, Glamorgan and others is financially impossible. It's all about priorities I suppose.
