Bsmith does appear to have his sources, but there is nothing on the ECCC website or twitter about this. Bsmith could mean confirmed as not signing.

Iqbal confirmed

Some real news

Excellent. A good signing

An improvement on nat talking to himself and VP living in the past - that's for sure!

No. The improvement is a sensible choice of O/S with a good established T20 record.  The sort of player we never seemed to sign under the previous regime.

Indeed. Perhaps I should put more smilies on my post because it was said in jest

However, seriously. It is patently obvious that we are in a far better place (both as a club and a team) than we were before Paul Grayson left etc etc. Everyone knows it but, somehow, some folks still feel the need to draw attention to it time and again

What I (and I suspect others) find relatively tiresome is the need to dig out the old regime at every possible (and slender) opportunity. And (while I am aware that nat is trolling) the putting down of our players and some of our future players too. Sure, even though we are doing so well there are always ways we can get better but it would be nice if, when we are in a good place, we could be a little less sour

Perhaps it would be an idea to have a history part of the board where we could all reminisce about the good and the bad old days while leaving the rest of the forums for the current season.

Anyway that's my grumble over -I'll go back to comparing Mr Virdi's recent figures with Mr Harmer's.  8) 8) ;D ;D

And back on topic. Still reckon Tamim is a very good acquisition (assuming it is he)

How long will Iqbal be here for ? Bangladesh are due to play Aus on the 27th Aug if it goes ahead.

He should be available for all the group games but would probably miss the Quarter Finals and Finals Day.

Worry about that if we get there.
Dwayne Bravo will probably be available.  ;)

A decent acquisition who gets on with it, possibly a bit hit & miss but when he comes off he certainly does...

England players are normally made available for finals day so we'd have Cooky instead. People will say he's too slow but he scored 50 against Notts off around 30-35 balls. He's a class act and should play whatever the circumstances.

2015 T20 quarter final, Cook was available and not picked. Browne played, batted at 7 IIRC, you couldn't make it up...

Always the odd clown on this forum who when presented with actual real news are very quick to jump down people's throats when it isn't instantly confirmed. As I mentioned, the delay is visa issues.

Bangladesh media saying he's only here for "8 or 9 games". Probably only going to be available for the first clump of games then going back before our game against Yorkshire. Worth keeping an eye on the Australia wages issue as well, tour of Bangladesh in August could be in trouble. EDIT: Updated article from the Dhaka Tribune http://www.dhakatribune.com/sport/cricket/2017/07/07/73102/ Odds on us introducing him to a pissed up Chelmsford tomorrow night?  ;D
