Rain scuppers any chance of a result , but a vital point gained to qualify for quarter finals .
Looks like a away trip to Trent Bridge against Notts . Can Essex do some highway robbery and gain a final day place ?

Yes. Did it a couple of years ago in an immense performance.

What rain? Nothing in Witham or Maldon. Thought the floodlights were cut because someone didn't pay the leccy bill again...

Not even any in rain in Great Waltham (6 miles away). Put it down to the committee's magical powers-they must be good at something!

A shame the game was washed out but we may have struggled to get 185 anyway, best thing is we stopped Sorry qualifying.
Another superb innings from Ingram, just like Klinger he loves batting against us.
Notts away will be tough but we won there in 2013, we will be underdogs but that will suit us.

Even more difficult the fact we play on Monday 8th which is the day after the 4 day game at Colchester where Notts have the whole week off to prepare.  Masters limped off tonight as well.  Hope he can make it.

We've mostly always easily qualified for the knock out stages of the T20 in the past and have been one of the favourites to win, yet when the pressure has been applied in the big games we have always failed. So maybe this year when we have just scraped in and there are very few expectations on us, COULD just finally be the one where we actually make a T20 final and even win it!!

When we won at Trent Bridge in 2013 at the same stage we were total underdogs & the Sky experts all went against us(even Nasser), but we won easily enough despite Hales & Lumb starting like rockets. In that year we were the only away side to win, mind you in 2014 when we qualified easily we were the only home losers!!
