Share your views with the Club
« on: October 07, 2015, 06:07:39 PM »
Hello all,

After a number of months unable to log in to the forum I have now managed to regain access!

After reading comments on here, I have real desire to hear Members/supporter views on matters across the Club and be a Club contact on here. This was a reason why we hosted a Q&A with the players/Coach during the Lancs game and EssexTV interview with Derek and we will continuing this into the new season.. Unfortunately I won't be answering anything on players, contracts or potential new coaches but i will now be as active as we can along with our other communication streams on Facebook, Twitter and via email. If anyone would like to contact me directly then please feel free to email ashley.neave@essexcricket.org.uk

Thanks, Ashley (Marketing & Communications Manager)

See my post on the "Interview" thread

Moderator has copied for ease of reference:

Welcome Ashley.

When is the next Members Forum, and have there be any suggestions as to who will be there. Please, someone answerable, no more recently-signed squad members.

Thank you, the next Members Forum is on Wednesday 11 November in the Pavilion and we hope to see plenty of our Membership base there on the night. The attendees are yet to be confirmed but I'm sure Chairman Nigel Hilliard, Deputy Chairman John Faragher and Cricket Chairman Ronnie Irani, along with other member of the committee and playing staff, will be in attendance.

This will be published on the Essex website in the coming weeks with a list of attendees and timings

Didn't it say 4th November originally?

Why is a weekday evening always chosen for these events? Some of us just cannot get there midweek - perhaps a report could go on a closed area for members unable to travel?

Yes, it was originally the 4th November but the date is now the 11th. The Pavilion will be open from 6pm for a 7pm start. The 7pm start time will hopefully allow many people to come down after work.

We are currently looking at ways in which we can circulate news to Members in the best way possible, which has been started by the emails with the latest news. To receive these, please make sure you access your online ticket account and update your email address. After this, tick the box to 'Use to contact me' and then you will start receiving them.

I thought we normally received a newsletter twice a year. The last one I could see is the one I received in February. Has this been dropped

How can we get the newsletter without signing up for tickets? I always used to get it but I haven't had one for ages.

I signed up again when I voted for player of the season but nothing received ...

The newsletter I referred to was the magazine sent out to members in the post.

Do we know what time the members forum will finish and if we can park at the ground?

How about streaming the Members' Forum live online? How about taking emailed questions from those who don't happen to live in easy travelling distance from Chelmsford?
The Club really have to do so much better than this. It could be 1985, or any date since. Why do ECCC have such a problem with being open and honest and accessible?

If members could please e-mail the club (including those without e-mail) in order to enquire about the rearranged members forum that most won't even know has been rearranged without having received an E-mail therefore making their e-mail enquiry superfluous, then the club can take the opportunity to spam you senseless with copious "offers" to buy tickets or get into some queue jumping scheme to beat other people into buying tickets and at the same time mention the rearranged forum date which you will already know about (see  above).
NB Forum rearranged due to double booking of pavilion for use in auction of all fixtures and fittings in closing down sale of ECCC due to ill conceived development plan leading to financial meltdown. (Bring your own seats for the following Wednesday)
A funny thing happened on the way to the forum......it got cancelled.
"It's business as usual".

The Members Magazine will be sent out with your renewal packs in November.

The forum will finish at 8 to half 8, and yes you can park at the ground.

The Members Forum is an exclusive Members event, and if it were to be streamed live, it would be open to the general public. If you would like to submit questions, please email them to marketing@essexcricket.org.uk. We also provided the opportunity for Members to submit their questions for an interview with the CEO in September, which was advertised on our social media channels, and we will continue to do these.

Wrong answer.

"The forum will finish when we have dealt with all the issues raised by concerned members" sounds better to me.

Take the point about being streamed live, but there's no reaon why it shouldn't be recorded and made available to members after the event. Wouldn't require a lot of organisation; "we have the technology"! Or at least it exists!!!

Thank you for the details of the date etc.

It would be helpful, if my thought about recording & making said recording available to members is a technological step too far, if a record could be made manually of the proceedings and a précis made available to those members who wish, published in the next newsletter, or SOMEHOW supplied to those members who cannot attend. Maybe on request. It really should not be down to two or three of us to take notes and publish them. Even Parliament provides and accurate record to anyone.

I've suggested in this in the past, but "deaf ears rule!"

Why do you want to know in advance who is attending, never needed to do that before.

Ashley - you haven't answered how we get these members e-mails if we don't want to sign up for tickets.
