T20 Blast tickets
« on: June 16, 2015, 05:27:11 PM »
Evening,

To confirm we now have less than 200 tickets left for Friday, the majority of which are standing.

The three other remaining T20 home games should and almost certainly will sell out within the month of June. This will mean 5, nearly 6 sold out games, a record across all counties for number of games sold.

Thanks, Danny

Oh dear ... we must be taken for mugs. Selling out a 5000 capacity ground is a bigger achievement than selling 15,000 tickets at other grounds?!

We can only sell what we have! Against a number of similar sized counties no County has sold that level. Thanks

If we're going to judge ourselves against similar sized counties how come we never feature in Div. 1 of the County Championship like Somerset & Sussex?

So, when scrutinised, the only counties with a comparable/approximate capacity to ECCC are; Kent, Derbyshire, Northants, Worcs. Leicestershire, Sussex. As we all know ECCC as a general rule are not in favour of scrutiny! With the possible exception of Hove, all have facilities that put the ECG to shame.

Somerset have nearly completed their redevelopment - into a  stadium with an ODI staging rating- as opposed to talking about it for the best part of a decade. In fact they even gave Essex a head start. Their capacity is circa 8,000 so I'd guess not in the category of the smallest county grounds.

But I believe they have sold out for all their T20 games?

So can we all agree that we're the best supported basket case county?
