In the famous victory over Worcestershire James Foster passed 11000 runs. As I don't think anyone stands between Ray Smith's total of 11125 and James's 11019 he will join the list of most runs for Essex in next year's Yearbook. Then its onwards and upwards. Of course he has been the only current player to qualify for the leading aggregates for Essex, in his total of wicket-keeping victims.
For those of you who know me, I got a clean bill of health for my eyes on Wednesday. The sister who had me reading from the letters chart said that she had never known anyone get further down than I did.  The other benefit is colour. From the white of newspapers to the red in a certain Spanish bank every colour is so vivid. If my reader had a cataract please sort it out, good eyes are a godsend.  Next week I'm having another check on my ears and it would be good to get better hearing but that seems a long way away. Thanks again for your messages about the statistics and my health and I look forward to 2015 with renewed vigour and hope to see you all then.

Notice on the BBC cricket averages page Capt Cook is top the Div 2 averages  ( 77) Wonder if any other Essex player has achieved the same since the two division split occurred ?

Thanks for your stats during the season and keep well over the winter period .

Not quite a milestone but in The Times, Graham Napier is top of the first-class bowling averages. A great achievement but one that probably passed by a lot of those who voted in the player of the year contest. Congratulations, Graham!

And thank you Brian for all your work on Essex stats.

...quite closely followed Ryder and Masters.

And can I add my good wishes and Mrs Postman's, Brian, for a good winter and we look forward to seeing you next year.

And thank you Brian for all your work on Essex stats.
