Sorry Danny, that isn't really clarifying anything. Are you saying the big, burly, bearded steward (resisting the temptation to keep the alliteration going) had been incorrectly instructed or was exceeding his brief. It really isn't on, hassling members unnecessarily and it's even worse if the steward is acting on a whim. If that is the case perhaps the club would like to issue an apology to those of its members inconvenienced in that way last Wednesday.

I really do appreciate your prompt and attentive responses to questions on here, but this issue appears nebulous to say the least.

Chelmsford isn't (yet!) a Test ground but spectators were invited to go on the grass last night, despite the presence of the almighty Sky. Looks like the Club did note and respond on this occasion.

I've been to the oval for quite a few games this year and they always have bag searches for 20/20 games and one day matches so Essex are no different.

The bag search on Thursday took less than 30 seconds and were very friendly.
