v Sussex at Chelmsford Part 2
« on: July 26, 2014, 11:02:29 AM »
Since my last missive I've done delving into ACS/Cricketarchive records and come up with the following: Sussex's score was the highest successful run chase in t20 history, beating that of Cape Cobras against Titans at Centurion in 2010/11. The highest in England was 217, scored by Somerset against Hampshire at Taunton in 2010. The match aggregate of 451-6 is the highest between two counties, it was 449-9 in 2007 at Kidderminster in 2007. The highest aggregate in England is 457-12 between England and Australia at West End in 2013. The highest ever is 469-10 between Chennai Superkings and Rajasthan Royals at Chennai in 2009/10.  The fourth wicket partnership of 159 unbroken by Wright and Machan is the highest in England, beating that of 139 by Ramprakash and Clarke for Surrey at Bristol in 2006. The highest ever stand for this wicket is 202 unbroken by M C Juneja and A Malik for Gujerat against Kerala at Indore in 2012/13. Luke Wright's innings of 153* beat the previous English record, 152* for Essex aganist Sussex at Chelmsford in 2008. The highest innings in all t20 cricket is 175* by Chris Gayle for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors at Bangalore in 2013/14.
Hope all this helps and don't be afraid to look up the new website. Go to the ACS website and register there. You will need your e-mail address and a password. Happy hunting!
