Is that a threat or a promise?

Just the same cordial (and still open) invitation to meet that I gave to you

Well it was great to meet and chat to so many members at the club on Sunday. A lot of lively discussion about the ground redevelopment plans and the finances of the club. Many were curious about the new Chair and there were also questions about access via the River Gate and car parking for disabled members, which I shall raise at the next board meeting. Special thanks to the member who so enjoyed our chat he bought me an ice cream! Going forward, I will try to attend as many games as possible - work permitting - so if you see me, please grab me and I'll be happy to discuss anything you wish, don't be shy!

Perhaps a meet and greet nominated time and place on your next visit for all Daren ?

Morning everyone! There's a members forum at the club on Thursday lunchtime during the Surrey game. I'll be there and happy to chat about anything you wish.

Can, before the Forum starts. Please can the message be put out, that once the Forum is over. Leave, the club officials do not have the time in their busy schedules. To be button holed, by a few elderly and with a nasty streak to them members.

Why no notice of this from the club?

Thanks for confirming, something that I could by looking out of the window. That it is unlikely that there will be much play before lunch.

Anyone go to the forum?  Anything of interest mentioned?
Acoustics were bad and struggled to hear most questions due to no mike and the background music from nearby concert however ?.
Silverwood and Walter briefly to answer any questions, and both were congratulated in winning hundred competition.
Coach said there was a process to get England players released and playing in county games and match referees to be informed . Concern was raised that Allinson might be off to Surrey in future, but coach said he is very much a Essex  player.
Das taking a break from cricket, with Elgar retirement, club looking for players but signing anyone is usually down to availability . Killeen middle of two year contract gone to get valuable match time out on loan especially with Bennett and Jones progress.
New committee member Darren Mootoo was present to meet and greet .

So Das is on a career break. The same as female staff who used to go on a five-year career break. Which should have re-titled resignation.

Men can take 5 year career breaks too - I know several who did whilst their wives went back to work after having a baby.
