Ah the usual torrent of positivity on this merry forum. Yes of course it might all go finches up again, but please let us give the lady a chance. The recent performances of some gents as Chair suggest that accusations of wokery seem inappropriate and irrelevant.

Well hardly given they were appointed due to the very same reason.

Meritocracy is gone.

Hope she does well but to pretend the previous 2 appointments were not done with a view to be doing the right thing (well I what certain folk who were setting the agenda at the time determined was correct) rather than the best person is willful blindness.

We got rid of the best chairman we had due to resentment and score settling by a couple of chaps who have ultimately set the club back years and almost, perhaps still will, lead to it's destruction as we know it, after what those 2 set in motion simply as they had a falling out. What have they ever done for the club other than nearly destroy it I ask?

You only need to look at Lancashire to realise what is going to happen next.

Men's first team becomes marginalised as focus shifts to developing the ground into a venue for revenue generation, women's game and inclusivity.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of developing these areas as they are important to every club, but not not at the cost of the mens first eleven.

The priority and investment must be on the men's first team playing competitive Div 1 red ball cricket and challenging for the title, whilst also being competitive in the the white ball formats.

The future, sadly, does not look good for achieving these goals under her leadership.

Would you rather Essex CCC not exist as a professional entity? Because that's where the club is going without the point listed in bold actually happening. They are losing money every year and cannot afford their current wage bill. If you want a competitive team on the field long-term, you should be begging for a ground redevelopment/move.

As for the Chair, unless she knows a generous cricket-loving multi-billionaire from Basildon, then I couldn't care less. They are nothing more than a mouthpiece.

Tbf JF did stuff and force change and improvements at the club was hands on and didn't carry hangers on who contributed nothing. Hence why a cpl of them got rid of him...

A Ground Development that is planned around yesterday's news. Is never going to succeed. Is the little boy, who did the good work regarding the Emperor's new clothes available. To point things out.

Of course.

She deserves a chance and hopefully will prove us wrong.

My expectation is that the women will do well in what ever competition they play in with no one watching, the ground will be full for a Queen tribute act and the disability team will be on a Sky.

Meanwhile, the first team will be in the second division and largely insignificant.

I really hope I'm wrong.
