SMF - Just Installed!
Enjoyable evening at Hove, always a nice ground to visit. For much of our innings I was worried we were under par and without Simpson's comedy drop of Pepper we might have been struggling, but inspired hitting from Harmer, taking 30 off the final over, got us over 200. Great to see Cook returning and straight back to his best. Sussex found it very difficult to score off him and that helped trigger their self-destruction. Was pleased to see that Harmer kept Cook and Snater on for a proper opening spell, by T20 standards. Absolutely the right thing to do after the early wickets. My first time seeing Mackenzie Jones, the Sussex innings was already in ruins when he came on but thought he looked very promising with some extra pace and carry. Some excellent outfield catches held as well. Crocombe had a horrorshow but every bowler gets pasted in this format at some point. 100 runs is a huge margin of victory in T20, our biggest ever win in this comp?Handbook states two wins over hundred runs .Sussex - H - 2008 - 128 runs Gloucester. -H- 2011 - 122 runs

I have been to Hove since covid allowed us to and seen some pretty poor efforts from us to be honest. However, last night was similar to our performance at Northants where we looked tired and lack lustre, this time it was Sussex who looked lack lustre and a really poor team. The members at Sussex are hugely at war with the club as they have been sold down the river by the clubs mismanaged financial hierarchy, the squad will be decimated at the end of the season as players careers are terminated. The members also admit it couldn't have come at a worse time as the previously rich array of second eleven talent is bare and nothing is coming through. So when we and me included, moan about Essex not having another overseas player, have a look at Hove and the outlook for Sussex members, the way things are going with the County, it wouldnt suprise me if they get relegated from Div 1 in the Championship either.

We won there in 2022,2023, 2024 and 2026 and last year we would have won if it hadn't been for rain.
