Forum June 2026
« on: June 20, 2026, 06:45:07 AM »
Forum held in cricket school lunchtime Notts game .
Acoustic are bad inside this location so missed  some items .
Cook had his cast off and hopefully be available 3-4 weeks.
Elgar contract finishes end of season .
Mulder already booked out for rest of season. unlikely to find replacement to be good or better.
Open planning permission for ground development but still have to reapply to council .
When redevelopment starts club will not relocate.
Scoreboard now does not play replays and not dark enough in bright sunshine - scoreboard ten years old .

Can anyone update on this? I wouldn't expect the Club to provide any detail or information, based on their track record of 'delivery' openness or indeed honesty thus far.
It appears no lessons have been learnt from this embarrassing fiasco the first time around.
I happened across this article: https://www.cricketworld.com/exciting-progress-in-ground-redevelopment-plans/10033.htm, but it seems to represent exactly what was being promised in 2008! It makes reference to 'development partner MCD', but a quick search there brings up this: http://www.mcdproperty.com/eccc-essex/ Where apparently 'phase one completed'. ;)

Did not the latest revised plan have a hotel included ? So therefore have to apply for new planning permission. Let?s not forget money grants usually also have time limits for availability, so lots of procedures to follow .
