The last warmup game of the season before the championship starts next Friday. Essex 192 all out against Yorkshire in what looks a freezing Chelmsford. Is anyone there? Paul Walter top scored with 34, with 33 from Snater and 28 from Critchley.

Yes, I braved it, the wicket was very helpful to the seamers.
The 3 top scorers looked the most comfortable, Charlie Allison played and missed at nearly all of his deliveries.
Coad and White were a handful and the 18 year old Singh was quick.
Pepper had a fling at the close, be interesting to see how they cope with our bowlers, its been cold and very damp all day.

Well done for braving the weather and making it down there. Southampton next week looks a little warmer, but not much. Let's hope Charlie finds his form before Friday, he looks set to be at 4 in the absence of Cox. At least Allison got another go at the end of the day.

Match Drawn , with very similar scores, only Bairstow got a fifty in the match.
Looking at the pictures let?s hope a Simon Harmer snood is available in the club shop at a reasonable price for the early barmy days of the season.

I also braved yesterday, both Porter and Cook bowled well, Snater was good support and deserved better.
Killeen was the better of the 2 signings, although a few balls from Zaman were rapid.
Better crowd yesterday and the clubs coffers were boosted by a really busy shop and Museum sale.
Mulder arrives today, onwards and upwards.

Good to hear about these crowds.  Up here it was cold and very wet so lucky to get some cricket in at all. Hopefully both the seamer signings will come good. Killeen is the more experienced whereas Zaman is a Porter like gamble.

No Zaman is a Saj-like gamble.

From the released pictures great to see the three seaxes with Essex underneath worn by the players.
Takes you back to the days before everything had a sponsor logo on it.

Last season our overseas player, from Sri Lanka. Appeared to be wearing, whatever they could find for him at the back of the shop.

That would explain his modest performances. Wearing Alan Lilleys patented jockstrap cannot have been very comfortable.
